Energy Assessor Training Courses
Short training courses and continual professional development for energy assessors:
Compliance and Energy Saving are high on an organisations priority list.
The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) makes a legal obligation to regularly inspect air conditioning systems with rated cooling outputs of over 12kW, at intervals not greater than 5 years or whenever a building is sold leased or let.
Building Regulations require persons to certify any new & renovated Mechanical Engineering Services (i.e. HVACR & Controls) comply with the Building Regulations. The certification can be performed by an Accredited Certifier working under a Competent Persons Scheme.
The Accredited Certifier (Building Regulations) Course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of personnel that will be obliged to certify any new & renovated Mechanical Engineering Services (i.e. HVACR & Controls) comply with the Building Regulations. Notification of a change in use and energy efficiency is mandatory, and many contractors are not aware of their responsibilities, and even if you are working for a principal contractor you will have to support the principal contractor by providing specific information.
Energy Assessor’s and Accredited Certifier’s are required to meet professional performance standards, i.e. be “a fit and proper person,” and have appropriate insurance cover. They must also be registered with an approved Accreditation Scheme respective to their chosen building services activity and attend a minimum 7hr formal training event annually.
Our skills trainer and performance coach, has been the Worldskills UK training manager for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning skill competitions since 2009, has worked in the building services industry over 30 years specialising in HVACR activities and is also a registered level 4 inspector.
